See Parts 1 and 2! 6/28 - 3:40 PM EDT Just received a phone call from Dave! He's on the west side of the Cascades just east of Blue River, OR heading toward McKenzie Pass. "If this trip was any better I couldn't stand it." Clear skies, 80 degree temperatures and the wind at his back! Feeling a bit lonely the first day, wondering what he was doing, thousands of miles from home, a whole continent ahead to bike across. Now he's flying high in the Cascades, high in his mind, high on the journey itself. He's hoping to get to a library so he can write an email that I'll post on this site.
