ENDING MACHINE
"As someone who is a lover of visual art, I see this collection as a collage of ideas and impressions that are representative of my artistic evolution, especially over the past few years."
Robin Linn
From the book:
Tease
Lover might-be, more a stranger,
as wee frozen flakes descending last week
or white petals that wind will strew
in April were or might be;
certain dots coalesce by happenstance,
not for the thrill.
But what if she imagines to adore you, strokes
upon canvas reddened plum-round flesh,
just the velvet give of your lips?
…Oh, how fast is heat turned to flame:
orange-blues licking, jumping higher! Then,
just as fast reframed by circumstance, ravishing craving,
on second thought, and casting ash on lilacs not yet grown.
It's before dawn's first light prick that
any reciprocal tenderness is swept away; anything else left
on our sleeves, we'll pretend doesn't exist.
