FootHills Publishing and The Gallery @ The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes invites poets to submit poems for a book to be published in conjunction with The Sexuality Show, a regional exhibition inspired by the Centennial anniversary of Planned Parenthood. This exhibition will be on display during Women's History Month.
Submission Information:
This is an open call for residents of New York and Pennsylvania. Work is encouraged to explore issues surrounding sexual expression, sexual orientation, gender expression, reproduction, sexual health and consent. The call is very broad and work may address all sides of these issues.
Send one to three original, previously unpublished, poems.
Send poems by email attached as a .doc (or .docx or .txt only) as a SINGLE attachment of 1-3 poems.
Anonymous – Please, no identification on the attached poems; poems will be selected blindly. Do NOT put your name or any other identification on the poems. Label the attachment: “Submission – (Your Full Name)” and label your email subject likewise. Poems that contain poet identification will be ineligible and disqualified.
The body of the email must contain your contact information (name, mailing address, email), titles of your three poems, and a one-line bio note (max. 25 words).
Contributors will receive one contributor’s copy of the anthology and will be able to purchase additional copies at a 50% discount, plus shipping.
